Between work, preparing for the new baby, being a dad, more work, work work work, and writing Batman fanfiction (a hero's got to get her kicks somewhere) Victor hasn't had much time for anything else.

She's never thrown a proper baby shower, so she's really glad for April's help. Though, it's not quite a proper baby shower.

Her apartment is draped with color, forget pastel blues and pinks and yellows that look like a marshmallow Peep's intestines. Brilliant, bright turquoise, green that looks like it was snatched off of a jungle plant, gold baubles hanging from the light fixtures.

Forgot to mention, the lights are off and the guests are crouching down behind the couch, huddled in the kitchen, shuffled behind lamps and curtains.

"Why aren't you allowed?"

April chuckles. "No naming your children after well-known heros?"

"Specifically Batman, yeah. Cole vetoed it."

Jack looks puzzled. "I don't remember that from my history lessons."

"Did they have Superman in your history lessons?"

"Batman lives in the same universe as Superman," Victor says, to clarify. "On my birth-world, they're fictional."

Fictional, ah. His expression clears a little bit. "Can't say it brings much to mind, but if it's fictional in mine, that'd make sense. The Agency flash-learning focused more on history than popular culture."

"No wonder it is not familiar than." April is very aware that both her husband, and even herself are considered to be fictional in some dimensions.

"I'll have to introduce you to a few Batman comics. I think you'd like him. Maybe. Anyway, I'm a huge fan."

"Rose has been introducing me to some of her century's entertainment, but we haven't come across that one just yet."

"How about your other children, are they excited?"

"We totally are," Jude chirps, stuffing another s'more into his mouth, whole. "I'm not sure if the girls quite understand... but we've all been making toys with Uncle Doctor for the new baby!"

Jack grabs a couple marshmallows and eats them without toasting them as he listens. He still thinks it's quite strange that the Doctor here looks completely different than his Doctor, although he knows why. Extensive time travel training keeps him from asking any questions, though, not even when the Doctor gives him those quiet looks when he thinks Jack isn't looking.

"What kind of toys?"

"Stuffy toys. The girls and I designed them, and Dad and Uncle Doctor are sewing them," Jude says.

"They're doing a great job, too," Jack adds. He's been watching their progress.

"That's awesome. Jonathan is too young to really create anything, but he tries."

"That's a great attribute to have," Victor says, warmly. "Maybe him creating something with you would be cool. Like, he gets to point to the paint for you to use and...."

"Isn't fingerpainting a thing?" Jack asks. It's something that's managed to stick around culturally, even to his century.

"He loves fingerpainting. I guess what I meant was... his art is more abstract right now. Instead of realistic."

"Yeah, he'll get there. And you're the perfect mom for it, too! To be with him through each stage."

"Nothing wrong with abstract art. Realistic stuff sells, but abstract's where the money's at," Jack says, showing a bit of his con man past. He managed to get a lot of money selling worthless junk, back in his conning days.

"Art?" Jonathan looks up. Wondering if they are going to paint now.

"Yeah, we can do that later, little man," Victor coos.

Jude's face lights up, too. He loves to paint! He's not particularly good at it, but Vic loves everything he makes.
