I had a couple of interesting conversations.

My mom walked into my room when I wasn't quite dressed. That sparked an argument.
Me: ...!
Her: You have more scars.
Me: Can we talk about this later? Please? I'm. Not. Dressed.
Her: *taking her time* You have a lot of scars.
Me: You wouldn't know that if you knocked.
Her: We need to talk about this.
I should have been more respectful but I was pretty frazzled. On the same note, I think I'm the only person who'd wear a sweatshirt in July. I hope that she forgot that she wants to talk about this.

And with my sister. She was tearing into Joey again and I started yelling at her to back off. I stepped between them.

She said she'd beat the hell out of me if I didn't back off.

I didn't back off.

She didn't touch me.

I'm happy.

Good. *smiles*

She smiled back and nodded.

How have you been otherwise?

"I've been okay. You?"

Much better, once I stopped being a shark. *smile* I got back home and found my family all right. I brought my daughter in the Nexus a few nights ago. *mouth twitches a little unhappily*

"'M glad. But...what happened with your daughter? Is she okay?"

Yes, Lauren's fine. It's just... there's an alternate of her father in the Nexus, and he refuses to believe he's her dad. It's very complicated.

"Oh? That's unfortunate. 'M sorry; it does sound awful complicated."

It is. *sighs* And he's being very rude about it all. But whatever. You haven't seen Lauren yet, have you?

She shook her head. "I sure haven't. But I'm sure she's beautiful."

*smile* She really is. If I bring her in again, I'll try to show her to you.

"I'd love t' meet her. How old is she?"

Three months. Just got here. *happy smile*

"Awww!" she crooned. "I can't wait t' meet her."

I'm sure she'll be very pleased to meet you, too.

She smiled brightly. "This'll be great."
