So, he failed you because the quiz didn't follow the syllabus?
I'd suggest you get documentation and talked to his supervisor about that - it's unprofessional for him to deviate from what he says is the course, and expect you to answer something you haven't covered yet. I'd had my share of lousy professors when I was in college.
