Victor is so far having a lovely day. She had breakfast with her girls and Jude, even if it was only on skype, and she was eating mushy scrambled hospital eggs.

She's sewing now, a teddy bear for the new Kent baby. She still can't use her arm well, so that's by her side, and she's careful not to lift it, just using her fingers, her wrist. She's adept at adapting.

So far, the teddy bear definitely has a red cape. She's whistling.

"Er, yeah, I am," she says, sheepishly. She knows cell phones are against the rules in hospitals, but she's never run into a problem with it disrupting her equipment, and in any case she's not hooked into anything especially fancy. "But it's okay... I'm not near anything where the electromagnetic interference would cause a problem."

"Still," says the Primus Servant crisply. "Text me yer addy t'ere 'n I'll mail ye somet'in."

This said, the obstreperous young hybrid hangs up.

She texts her e-mail address and pulls her laptop toward her, pressing the power button with her thumb.

There's a moment's pause, and then an email appears in the box. Hormah's email name is 'holy destruction'. Is anyone surprised?

She snickers, scrolling down on her keyboard, clicking on the e-mail to read it.

The contents are as follows:

Subject: Teaching job at girl's school in Nexus.

A lady named Miss McGuffin is looking for a teacher for her younger students. Her school is in the sunken Venice part of the Nexus, over by the bay. Interested parties must be comfortable with children of the 'Halloween' races. Current junior students include a young skeleton, and a headless five year old and her head.

She picks at her lip, then types away. It takes her a little while, typing with one hand.
