Victor is so far having a lovely day. She had breakfast with her girls and Jude, even if it was only on skype, and she was eating mushy scrambled hospital eggs.

She's sewing now, a teddy bear for the new Kent baby. She still can't use her arm well, so that's by her side, and she's careful not to lift it, just using her fingers, her wrist. She's adept at adapting.

So far, the teddy bear definitely has a red cape. She's whistling.

"Yeah." She smiles, takes another big sip of cold tea. "You know, in a way... I'm grateful for my upbringing, for the junk I had to face as an adult, because without it, I might not have the depth of feeling that I do have, my sense of injustice, my need to protect. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but I'm glad it was mine."

"I am glad for my past too. It made me the woman I am today. And I am sure I will be a better mother for my child because of it too."

"It's funny how that works out, isn't it? We end up bein' better people."

"With better lives. And amazing husbands."

[victormakesart]

"Ha, totally. I never thought I'd get that."

[slayers_desire]

"I am glad that I have Clark, and the friends in my life that I do. Such as you."

[victormakesart]

"I'm glad I've got you in my life, too."

[slayers_desire]

April reached over to give Victor a tight hug. "Awww special moment."

She gives her a careful, one-armed hug, and a little bit of a snuggle. She's having loads of warm fuzzy feelings.

"I am so glad to see you doing better."

[victormakesart]

"Me too." There's still a lot that's scaring her... her arm, for instance, and, a tiny bit of her is feeling very low about her face, but she's starting to come to terms with it.

"I was so worried about you. I had even thought... about helping you heal."

[victormakesart]

"Yeah?" she says, gently, unsure as to what that means, but she has an idea of what it might be. Just a smidgen of a theory. That it might have to do with a major difference between them.

April shrugged softly. "I was that worried about you. But using my blood always involves a risk."

"So I am glad you were strong enough to survive."

[victormakesart]

"That's really sweet of you," she says, something gentle in her voice that isn't always there. "It's little to do with me bein' strong... more to do with the skin graft. Never had one of those before. At least I'm, y' know, gaining a new experience." She's also gaining frequent blood tests and dressing changes and painkillers. They were going to give her anti-anxiety medication to help with the potential onset of PTSD, then they took one look at the rest of her and decided (Victor thinks) that it wasn't necessary.

"I am so fortunate to have the healing I do have." There were things in her life that she wouldn't have survived without it.

"And seeing you do so well without something like that, makes me so proud of you."

"Thank you," she says, shyness creeping into her voice. "I'm really lucky to be alive, still, after all these years. And, heh, man, I've always envied healing factors. I think it's pretty awesome that you've got one!"

"There are times that having a healing factor literally saved my life. So... yah..."

"It is the one ability I do hope the baby inherits. Might make life easier."

[victormakesart]

"Definitely. I'm hopin' for the same for you, for sure. I've got a little less to worry about for 'Thena and Jude, 'cause if something goes wrong, it's a matter of straight-forward mechanics, and you can literally fix 'em up as good as new, but with Anya..."

"I think no matter what I am going to worry about my kids."

[victormakesart]

"Yeah, I think that comes with the package."

[slayers_desire]

"I worry about Clark at times... but I think this will be different." April touches her belly.

[victormakesart]

"Yeah, it's a lot different. They're so small, and you love them with so much of you. Unconditionally. It's like, this precious, amazing, miraculous gift, and it's scary. But good-scary. If it weren't a little scary, I think we'd take it for granted."

[slayers_desire]

"Definitely a gift. I never thought that this would be possible, and now overcome with happiness and joy because it happened. And I see so much joy and happiness in Clark too..."

"Its just a wow."

"Yeah, it is," she says a little wistfully, thinking of her own potential future next child, and how she's going to acquire him or her.
