Yesterday was not a good day for me to be in the Nexus.

Zombie stuff. Enough said.

I encountered Daniel's sister. She said that she could cut off my head and give it to him as a gift. She went on and on. About how she'd put a bow in my hair. How I'd have a nice expression on my face.

I got sick.

I couldn't help it.

Then I cried.

I also couldn't help that.

She studied her hands to keep from crying again.

"I...I dunno. 'M not thinkin' right-proper right now."

"Not thinking right-proper? That sounds bad." Merry looks grave, though his eyes are twinkling.

"Yeah. 'S odd-strange." Then the absurdity of her ever thinking in a regular fashion hit her and she smiled.

He smiles back. "Your speech is so quaint."

"Quaint like," she said as she gave a thumbs up. "Or quaint like..." She altered her voice to be nasal-ish. "Quaint."

He blinks. "There are different meanings?"

"'Pends on how you mean it, yeah. Every word can be changed. Quaint can be cute-proper or simple-silly."

"Cute-proper, I believe, is what I meant." Merry still looks slightly confused.

"'Kay. Just checkin'. 'M sorry, I'm not thinkin' well today. I'll be better by t'morrow."
