I was supposed to be named Fox.

if I had kept the same middle name I would have been Fat.

If I had been named Fox, then that's who I'd be.

But instead I'm Alexander. Alec cause I had a stutter and stumbled over my name.

It means "Protector of Men." I kinda like that.

If that's the name I grew up with, then it would have been me, f'r honest-real. Of course Fox is alot different then Alec. Two totally different people.

"That's amusing." March shook her head. "I don't have a middle name, but my name sounds redundant. March Marciano. It's like a stutter."

"It is, huh? Victor E. Why th' hell didn't I think of tha'? I like yours, though."

"Well, I suppose it means you'll succeed." She shook her head and smiled. "Besides the sound of it, think about twelve sisters named after the months. I'm beginning to think that Mother ran out of ideas."

"Yeah...but it's so odd-strange." She grinned. "I like that though. Themed."

"I suppose." March smiled back. "I always wondered about it. But then again, Mother's sanity was suspect after she approved the plans for the third generation girls. I love August and the triplets, but giving small children super strength and hand grenades is asking for trouble."

"Oh dear! Yeah...that'd be bad. But the names seems like it'd be a stroke of genius, really."

"You don't want to know how many TVs were thrown out windows by Oct, Nove and Diesse when there wasn't anything good on." She held back laughter. "A regular safety precaution in space was that Mother had the only television and her room was completely off limits."

"One good thing about being alone," March replied, looking off. "I don't have to chase those triplets anymore to keep them from causing trouble. I told you about the time they were playing catch with space cruisers in the parking lot, right?"

"More 'oh, no, how are we going to explain this,' but it was sort of scary, too." She laughed slightly. "You should have seen Sep. She'd been looking after them at the time."
